Privacy Policy — YouTube Dual Subtitles

Last updated: 2026-06-07

YouTube Dual Subtitles ("the extension") is a browser extension that shows bilingual subtitles on YouTube, can OCR-translate on-screen text when the video is paused, and lets you save subtitle words to a personal vocabulary list. This policy explains exactly what data the extension handles.

Summary

We do not collect, sell, or transmit any personally identifiable information. We operate no servers and run no analytics, tracking, advertising, or remote logging. Your settings and saved words stay in your own browser.

Data Stored Locally

This data never leaves your device and is never sent to us. You can delete it at any time by clearing the vocabulary list in the options page or removing the extension.

Network Requests

The extension makes outbound requests only to provide its features, and only sends the minimum data needed:

What We Do Not Do

Remote Code

All executable code, including the WebAssembly OCR engine, is bundled inside the extension package and runs from the extension's own origin. The extension does not download or execute any remote code.

Children's Privacy

The extension is a general-purpose tool, collects no personal data, and is not directed at children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "Last updated" date.
