YouTube Dual Subtitles ("the extension") is a browser extension that shows bilingual subtitles on YouTube, can OCR-translate on-screen text when the video is paused, and lets you save subtitle words to a personal vocabulary list. This policy explains exactly what data the extension handles.
We do not collect, sell, or transmit any personally identifiable information. We operate no servers and run no analytics, tracking, advertising, or remote logging. Your settings and saved words stay in your own browser.
chrome.storage in your browser.This data never leaves your device and is never sent to us. You can delete it at any time by clearing the vocabulary list in the options page or removing the extension.
The extension makes outbound requests only to provide its features, and only sends the minimum data needed:

text and OCR-recognized text are sent to obtain a translation. No account, identity,
or tracking data is attached. This text is governed by Google's privacy policy.tessdata.projectnaptha.com) — static,
open-source Tesseract .traineddata model files are downloaded the first
time you use the pause-to-OCR feature. No user data is sent to this host.www.youtube.com) — the extension reads the
caption track of the video you are watching to render dual subtitles. No data is sent
to us.All executable code, including the WebAssembly OCR engine, is bundled inside the extension package and runs from the extension's own origin. The extension does not download or execute any remote code.
The extension is a general-purpose tool, collects no personal data, and is not directed at children.
